Illegals Deported in Record Time After Announcing 1 Thing in Middle of ICE Office

I have always been amazed when people don’t realize that illegal immigration is, you know, illegal. In fact, it’s pretty much in the name itself, which is part of why the American left has been consistently trying to rebrand it as “undocumented immigration.”
Two illegal immigrants found that out last week after they came in for a regular check-in at an ICE office in Baltimore and one of them announced that he was going to be attending college on a soccer scholarship.
That was enough to get him and his brother deported to El Salvador, since it was proof that they were planning to stay in the country in spite of the fact they had already been given a final order of removal.
According to The Washington Post, Lizandro Claros Saravia, 19, and his brother Diego, 22, were deported to El Salvador on Wednesday. According to their lawyers, the Gaithersberg, Maryland siblings were sent back to their country quicker than he ever remembers any deportation case going.
“The ICE agents told me they were deporting the kids because Lizandro got into college, and that showed they intended to stay in the U.S.,” Nick Katz, senior manager of legal services at CASA de Maryland, told The Post.
ICE insisted that wasn’t how it worked.
“They were issued a final order of removal by an immigration judge in 2012. That’s why they were removed,” said ICE spokesman Matthew Bourke.
He noted, too, that while they had been granted a one-year stay of removal in 2013, further stays had been denied. Needless to say, there were the typical liberal protestations.
“They have separated my family,” Lucia Saravia, the mother of the two young men said at a press conference Wednesday. “We were together, and we were very happy.”
Unfortunately, it isn’t the job of the government to make those who break the law happy. It is to enforce the law, which the Saravia brothers were breaking. It’s worth noting, too, that according to WRC-TV neither one qualified for Barack Obama’s DACA program, since both entered two years after the cutoff date in 2009.
Their brother Jonathan also expressed another common wrongheaded sentiment the left likes to tote out when illegal immigration is involved.
“The system is supposed to deport criminals — I am fine with that,” he said at the press conference. “But my brothers did nothing wrong. They’ve had their futures taken from them.”
Hrm. Whatever could an illegal immigrant have done that’s illegal? I wonder…
“They were trying to get a future of dreams that they had in mind. A future to help my parents to live a better life not just for my parents, but for them too,” Jonathan added. Yes, and at least one of them was doing that with scholarship dollars at Louisburg College in North Carolina — something that likely could have been spent on students legally in this country.
I understand that there is a heartbreaking aspect to this, but what the media doesn’t seem to get is that heartbreaking aspect doesn’t come from the heartlessness of the legal system. Rather, it comes from the fact that the Saravia brothers broke the law. That’s why they got deported in record time.
There are consequences to breaking the law. Sometimes, those consequences can cause intense suffering. When that happens, it isn’t the fault of the government. Instead, the responsibility ought to rest squarely on the lawbreakers.
